We are thrilled to announce that Steven Sewell has joined Thumbprint as our new Head of Customer Insight. With a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the industry, Steven is set to bring a fresh perspective and innovative strategies to our team.
Steven's journey with our business began over a decade ago, having worked with us from 2002 to 2012 in our McCurrach agency working for firstly Unilever, and then Nestlé, where he was Commercial Manager. Since then, he has amassed extensive experience in insights and research, working for renowned companies such as Circana (previously IRI), Highland Spring, and most recently, Edrington, where he focused on the spirits category.
Steven is excited to return the business within Thumbprint and sees this as an opportunity to shape the relationship the Group has between clients and data. He is passionate about helping clients understand and interpret data to align with their strategic goals. Internally, he is also dedicated to making data accessible to everyone and empowering all users to become self-sufficient when using the DART and Pinpoint tools as much as possible.
On his appointment Gordon Neil, Thumbprint Managing Director comments “I’m delighted to be welcoming Steven to the Thumbprint team. His wealth of experience in insight leadership roles for brands and insight specialists is exactly what I was looking for in the next stage of our growth in Thumbprint. Enhancing our ability to help our clients unlock the insight that helps them sell more is key, and Steven’s experience and expertise will undoubtedly help us accelerate our journey. I’m excited to be working with Steven and our Customer Insight Manager, Elias, on the next stage of our client insight delivery and growth plan.”
Steven adds “It didn’t take long for me to make the decision to join Thumbprint once Gordon had taken me through the plans for the business, and, in particular, the desire to embed an insight function into the team. With the combination of my client-side experience, and my widespread use of FMCG data analytics tools used in the trade, I’m confident that we will begin to unlock new avenues of growth across our existing and future clients and embed Thumbprint’s unique products into their ways of working.”
In his new role, Steven will be responsible for dealing with client briefs related to business and market performance and delivering insights that help clients achieve their objectives, in addition to managing our Thumbprint Customer Insight Manager, Elias. He will also be involved in developing new partnerships and sourcing opportunities to further enhance our Thumbprint product offerings.
Steven's personal interests include spending time with his wife and two young daughters, who take up most of his time. When he gets the chance, he enjoys attending football matches at Celtic Park, where he is a season ticket holder, and enjoys electronic music, including DJing and creating his own tracks when time allows.
We are confident that Steven's expertise and passion for data will drive Thumbprint forward, helping us and our clients achieve new heights. Please join us in welcoming Steven Sewell to the Thumbprint family!
